YOMO is a curated online destination for unique matric dance and special occasion dresses. Our collection features one-of-a-kind, limited-edition and pre-loved dresses that allow you to achieve a designer look without the designer price tag.

Buying a Dress
Are the dresses new or pre-loved?
Many of our dresses are pre-loved and have only been worn once. We may also feature custom-made and limited-edition dresses. Each listing clearly states the condition of the dress.
Will someone else have the same dress as me?
One of the things that makes YOMO special is that many of our dresses are custom-made or one-of-a-kind. While we cannot guarantee exclusivity, the chances of seeing the same dress at your matric dance are significantly reduced.
Why are YOMO dresses more affordable?
Many of our dresses were originally custom-made at considerable expense and worn for only one special occasion. Buying pre-loved allows you to enjoy a beautiful designer-quality dress at a much lower price.
How do I know what size each dress is?
Many dresses were custom-made and do not have standard sizing labels. The size shown on the website is based on the seller’s estimated retail dress size and should be used as a guide only.
Why don’t your dresses have standard sizes?
Because many dresses were individually made for their original owners, there is no universal sizing system. We therefore provide measurements and an estimated retail size to help you find the best match.
What if the dress doesn’t fit perfectly?
Most dresses can be altered by a professional seamstress. We recommend allowing enough time before your event for any necessary alterations.
Can I try on a dress before buying?
YOMO Fitting Parties offer the opportunity to try on a selection of dresses before making your decision. Details of upcoming fitting events will be announced on our website and social media platforms.
How do I know the condition of the dress?
Each dress is carefully reviewed before being accepted onto the platform. Any imperfections, alterations or signs of wear will be disclosed in the product description.
Are the dresses cleaned before sale?
Yes. Dresses must be professionally cleaned before being accepted onto the YOMO platform.
Can I reserve a dress?
Because most dresses are unique and only one is available, reservations are generally not possible. Dresses are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can I return a dress?

Most of the dresses sold through YOMO are custom-made or specially designed pieces, which is why we believe it is so important for girls to attend a YOMO Fitting Party and try dresses on before making their final decision.
While dresses will be categorised according to the seller’s indicated retail size, the unique nature of custom occasion wear means that fit can vary from one design to another depending on the cut, fabric, structure, and style of the gown.
Our fitting experience allows girls to ensure that a dress either fits them beautifully as it is, or can comfortably be altered to create the perfect fit for their body.

When should I start shopping for my matric dance dress?
We recommend starting your search at least three to six months before your matric dance. This gives you plenty of time for delivery, fittings and any alterations that may be required.

Selling a Dress
Who can sell a dress on YOMO?
Anyone who owns a beautiful matric dance or special occasion dress that meets our quality standards may apply to sell through YOMO.
What types of dresses does YOMO accept?
We prioritise custom-made, designer and exceptional quality dresses that are stylish, unique and in excellent condition.
Does YOMO accept every dress submitted?
No. YOMO carefully curates its collection and reserves the right to accept or decline dresses based on quality, condition, style, demand and the number of similar dresses already available.
Why was my dress not accepted?
Your dress may not have been accepted because it does not meet our quality standards, requires repairs, is too similar to existing stock, or is unlikely to appeal to our target market.
What condition must my dress be in?
Dresses should be professionally cleaned and in excellent condition. Any stains, tears, missing embellishments or significant damage may affect acceptance.
Do I need to clean my dress before submitting it?
Yes. All dresses must be professionally cleaned before being sent to YOMO.
How do I submit my dress?
Complete the online submission form and upload clear photographs of your dress. Our team will review your application and contact you if your dress is accepted.
What photographs should I provide?
We recommend including front, back and close-up photographs, as well as images showing any special details, embellishments or unique features.
How is the selling price determined?
The selling price is usually based on factors such as the original cost of the dress, its condition, designer, style and current market demand.
Is there a listing fee?
Yes. Accepted dresses are subject to a listing fee, which helps cover photography, marketing, administration and promotion of your dress.
Does YOMO take commission when my dress sells?
Please refer to the current Seller Terms and Conditions, as commission structures and fees may be updated from time to time.
When will I receive payment if my dress sells?
Payment arrangements and timelines are outlined in the Seller Terms and Conditions and will be communicated before your dress is listed.
What happens if my dress does not sell?
You may choose to collect your dress or explore opportunities to relist it for future events.
Can I sell a dress that has already been altered?
Yes. Many matric dance dresses have been altered. Any alterations should be clearly disclosed during the submission process.
How long will my dress remain listed?
The listing period will be communicated when your dress is accepted onto the platform.
Can I sell more than one dress?
Absolutely. Multiple dress submissions are welcome, provided each dress meets YOMO’s quality standards.
Why should I sell my dress on YOMO?
Your dress enjoyed one unforgettable night. YOMO gives it the opportunity to create another magical memory while helping another young woman find her dream dress at a more affordable price.
Putting your dress up for sale
At YOMO, we believe beautiful dresses deserve more than one magical moment. If you have a stunning matric dance dress that you would love to pass on to someone new, we would love to help give it a second life.
Girls wishing to sell their dresses through YOMO will be required to complete a submission form and upload photographs of the dress.
All dresses submitted must be in excellent, near-perfect condition.
To maintain the exclusivity and uniqueness of the YOMO experience, we carefully curate every collection and therefore reserve the right to accept or decline dresses submitted for sale. This helps us avoid duplication of similar styles and sizes while ensuring a beautiful variety for our buyers.
If your dress is accepted, a listing fee of R350 will be payable. This fee allows YOMO to professionally market and showcase your dress as part of our curated Fitting Party experience.
Accepted dresses must be couriered to YOMO at least one week before the Fitting Party.
All dresses must be freshly dry-cleaned and in immaculate condition, as beautifully presented dresses naturally have a far greater chance of being selected and sold.
On the day of the event, if your dress is sold, payment for the agreed selling price will be made directly to you.
YOMO does not take commission on the sale of your dress — our role is simply to create a beautiful, trusted platform and marketplace where girls can buy and sell exceptional occasionwear.
If your dress is not sold at the event, you are welcome to collect it afterwards and relist it for a future YOMO Fitting Party and in the meantime, we are happy to continue to market it on our various platforms.

Fitting Parties
What exactly is a YOMO Fitting Party?
A YOMO Fitting Party is a one-day, pop-up celebration where you and your besties can explore gorgeous dresses and try on as many as your heart desires.
Where and how often do Fitting Parties take place?
We host these in KZN or Gauteng, and we’ll keep you updated when the next party is happening—just sign up, and we’ll let you know!
Do I need to book an appointment, or can I just walk in?
Yes please. To make sure your experience is perfect, we do ask you to book ahead—no walk-ins, just so we can give everyone proper attention.
Is there an entry fee to attend a Fitting Party?
There’s no entry fee.
Can I bring my mom or friends with me?
Absolutely! Bringing your mom and or bestie will only make things more fun!

How long does delivery take across South Africa?
In the event that your dress needs to be couriered to you, then we’ll whisk it to you within 2 – 3 business days nationwide.
